Something That Is Nothing

An obscure abstract expressionist artist was once commissioned to do a work for an Austrian woman. When the artist asked the woman what she had in mind, she replied:

"Paint me something that is really nothing. That does not rhyme and that I surely have never seen before. That I cannot see but I know is there. Somehow, I know is there. Yes. I'm sure that is what I want. Paint me something that is nothing.”
